Plastic Heroes by Ariel Doron
“War is about to begin,
now is the time to become heroes.
But the soldiers are plastic,
the battlefield a table
and home is just a distant image on a screen.
In a combat with no clear enemy or goal,
the border between reality and fantasy blurs:
is this really happening,
or is it all just a game?”
A funny and painful ,object theatre show for adults
with action, romance, drama and a lot of toys.
Language: With almost no words (little text in english).
Duration: around 40 Minutes.
About the Creator
Ariel masters a varitey of puppetry forms, manipulates, directs and gives artistic advice for pupptery projects.
For the past two years he has been touring in festivals worldwide with “Pinhas! Punch in The Holy Land”, his personal interpretation of the european traditional glove puppet which deals with current israeli politics in a satiric & wild manner.
With “Pinhas”, “Plastic Heroes” as well as other projects, ariel has been invited to venues, festivals and theaters across France, England, Germany, India, Finland, Estonia, Denmark and more.
In addition to theatre work, he also manipulates puppets in a variety of films and television shows, such as Sesame Street Israel, where he plays Elmo.
Ariel studied puppetry in The School of Visual Theatre in Jersualem, Cinema in Tel Aviv University, and participated in workshops of artists such as Agnés Limbos, Frank Soehnle, Stephen Mottram and Neville Trenter.
